What did you do to or with your CJ today?

Working on gathering and inventory of my parts so I can start the process of getting my Jeep back together. This last couple of years I have fallen off track. I need to pull the fork back out of my back because this project isn’t done yet.

Pulled the distributor cap off cleaned contacts and by some miracle it RUNS. Drove it 4 miles it got annoyed and quit, said salty words, recleaned with abrasive to shine the contacts, it started again. I retracted the salty words. Drove home and its idling as a test atm

Kind of why I bought the TJ, something to beat on, go Jeeping to the beach etc, while I work on the CJ...for lack of a better description, sorry, squirreled there for a sec, so many different parts on Franky jeep, hard to focus on it being a CJ.

Been mostly parts gathering as well, but hard to work in the garage as it holds heat and has been in the upper 80's and lower 90's for the last 3+ weeks with no letting up in site, and makes the garage even hotter.

I need to slap myself silly for letting my garage get so messy, so today hot or not gotta get cracking on organizing and cleaning, then on to removing the 2 stick TC and auto from Franky as a couple people been hounding me for possible purchase

This has me kind of perplexed, I like it with and without, not sure which I like better

My windshield stays flipped down for most of the summer. The dash pad then becomes a very ugly eye sore. Now that it’s deleted, I have more dash panel space for things like cell phone mounts and especially a tach just over the steering column. That’s next on the to do list.

Too many bugs here for no windshield driving on a regular basis, I can always add a pad at a later time

Running and driving ?

Sry got busy with work. Believe it or not sucker fired right up first try after I chiseled off the mud dobers from around the throttle linkage. Didn't try to drive it as there were no brakes. Sold it that morning. Probably should have asked for more but he agreed to a price sight unseen and before I did anything to it other than drag it home

His plan is to get it running and driving safely and just drive it as is. He's already bought all new brakes from master cylinder back along with lines valves etc

Yeah that’s how it starts out, then more and more. Ask me how I know. I was lucky. I started out brand new 38 years ago. Now I’m renewing for me and the next generation. My daughter after I’m done......

Not cured but all new ignition parts arrived today. I saved a large supply of salty words to share with the jeep during the wrench turning.

upgrading my V8 swap from 305 to 350, picking up later today. not really needing more HP or...just a better low mileage complete confirm-able motor, heard and seen start/run.
