What did you do to or with your CJ today?

Got my new alternator installed, now all I need is to put my headlights back in and I can get back on the road

Bought an polished aluminum dual plane 4 bbl intake for the 350 and Carter performance series carb to be installed.

Finally got around to installing the Sniper EFI, I bought last year. Install went pretty much by the books, only one leak on the intank fuel pump. Don't know why Holley didn't use an AN fitting instead of smooth bubble slide-on, a few more twists on the clamp and all sealed up.
Runs way better than the old 750, no more cold start issues. More responsive than the carb too.
One problem I did in counter was the o-ring suppled by Holley for intank pump was gas permeable, it swelled up and pop out of clamp ring. Fortunately I had a NOS o-ring put it in and solved the problem.

looked at it, thought about cleaning the inside out, had happy thoughts about the jeep haven't been stranded for 4 days after bypassing the ignition circuit.

Get that old Jeep running again !
Finally got back to her today. Got the fuel tank all hooked up (I almost died!) and actually started her. Purred like a kitten.
Then IT happened!! Fuel started flowing out of the carb. somewhere. I couldn't tell where, so I shut her down.
Decided this was as good a time as any to put that $$$ Webber carburetor on it, so I went after it.
Got it on and running but the linkage is the hang-up. Figure I'll have to make a bracket extension for everything to work right. She runs a bit rich, but I'll get that tuned in.
Once I get the linkage figured out, I can hobble her down to the exhaust shop and get some exhaust built for her.
Then it's seat time. Get 'em in and make 'em work.

Finally got some progress on my Jeep today. Been stalled or at least barely moving on it for some time. I really needed some help since I’m starting to get a little slower and stiffer as time goes by. Anyway got the engine Transmission and Transfer Case in and bolted up. Also got the grill, fenders and hood back on. 6866748D-59BD-42E7-BD01-F83AE57B9D5C.jpegAC04B1E8-C6A2-4C96-98ED-E9FFC4814232.jpeg84AB934E-CF11-41D8-84CA-F1AB38C2321C.jpeg

Man, I feel ya! My knee took a chit on me about 4 months ago. Can't even squat down anymore. I kinda have to "fall down" to get under anything anymore. And I gotta make sure there's something I can get a hand on to get back up or I'll have to snake my way over to something that works. Lol! Gettin old ain't for sissies!

Damn, I thought that was only me lol

Took time to inspect suspension components. My rear leaf springs are bent. Thought I could get away without a torque bar but I don’t like those clearance robbing, extra weight obstructive things.

What upgrades did you do to it…
Quite a bit. Not nearly done, many things pending. AMC 4 to AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . T-4 to T-176 . Added 4:1 Low Max to Dana 300 . A cam (small for FI). Sniper FI. Already had MSD ignition sys. Adding MSD distributor. Steering and front end work. Hydraulic clutch for T-176 . Some other things minor. Some cleaning and painting one a few places. Paint wasn’t a strong point with AMC

Put insurance on it, drove it to the courthouse and bought tabs for it then drove around a little bit.

How'd the LoMax install go? Got one in my sights myself here before too long

Pretty straight forward. Lucky I have a great friend who is a very experienced all around mechanic. I learned a lot on this build and lucky enough to have him with the knowledge. Just read up on it. Looking forward to seeing the difference between OEM and re-geared.

I hit the garage door opener this morning and was listening to the door open as it creaked, moaned, and popped. Jiminy Crickets that's how I feel when I get out of bed in the morning.

Stopped the valve cover leak ( for now) drove it around, enjoyed it and said no salty words.

Had the local muffler shop put exhaust on mine. All the way from the exhaust manifold to the tailpipe. He did a real good job. Nice and quiet. Problem is, now I can hear all the other things wrong with it. Lol! Took the Wife for a nice evening ride in it too. Life is good.

Windows and doors back on. lubed the zippers with old ChapStick fastest re install ever! Should have thought of that a few years ago!:jeep:
