What did you do to or with your CJ today?
It started about a month ago. driving through downtown with the Transmission in first, the darn thing would pop out of gear. Not always, but noticeably enough to be of concern. Fluid levels in the Transfer Case and Transmission were perfect. Clutch linkage was intact and functioning as designed. This was followed by an incident where, when parked on an incline in first gear, it didn't hold while I was putting the e brake on. Finally, two days ago, it became hard to shift into reverse, to any gear, to when I shifted into neutral at a stop light wouldn't shift into any gear. Blocked out of all gears unless I shut it off. Now, I know that there are a ton of reasons and fixes that could get this T-5 Transmission back up and running. This is the second time in ten years that I have been let down by this weak a## Transmission and I'm just not gonna mess with it. Today I ordered an AX15, with all of the needed additional parts, from Novak Conversions. Arrives next week. The Mrs. is happy too. A great day! I'll have to get the drive shaft re-tubed but darn, goodbye T-5

And congrats on the Mrs. being happy as well. Nothing like buying Jeep parts to bring happiness to the entire household.

When you consider how much we have changed on the original jeep we started with, we probably should have started a rebuild thread years ago. My dad had an old joke about a hammer he had. " I've changed the head once and the handle twice but it's the same old hammer." We would still rather have this old jeep than a new anything. Probably would have come close to costing the same but they are different animals.

Noticed that some sort of animal chewed a hole in my right seat causing salty words to flow with compound usages of a few of them. Had my doors and windows been on......................................prevention but nope, so now I have the excuse for better seats? I think so.

I'm waxing the spray paint getting her ready for ocean City Jeep week

They love salt, and anything that may have salt on it. I have lost hats brims that were left hanging to dry from sweat, and a couple of boots for the same reason. Nasty rodents, mostly nocturnal, smell real bad

Lol, this is the wrong place to be placing a Personal add!

Porcupines are a bitch
I agree, probably a squirrel, haven't seen porcupine in town and after 25 years living here I would hope if they were around I would notice one. Maybe a bird of some sort? Whatever it was also destroyed my trash sack looking for snacks.

Finally replaced the speedo cable on my ‘72 CJ5 . Had a custom cable made by a great local biz. The threads on the side bushing/connector on the tranny were stripped so I couldn’t fit the new cable on (see pic). Had those smoothed out and the new cable went on easily. I don’t ever have reason to go over 50 but it’s fun to know how slow I’m going now :-).

Finished getting her ready for the upcoming trip to Jeep week but found a creepy crawly in there that I was hoping to never see. Gave her the ol break clean treatment.348a6796e572c2fadd3ac65d370c9140.jpge434fb584b2b7d7513cde4925f41e7e8.jpg948cd7fa5ded72d4a6b479eed848c34d.jpg

My son spent his last day at home before going off to college. We took the Jeep for tacos. He’s a great kid and is now 1200 miles away.
Sunny on the way there, but rainy going back home.
