I like the Pontiac 455 in the 89 YJ1cd275bf67d88ee47e5fd05b38100402.jpge69bce29c0737a7bb8b167f6a5232a9a.jpg8e4d9139dc1d156b72bb289d611612cd.jpg7880543f09a00ed3f5edfaca25c1487b.jpg6f4f8b4e60fb7d4f74c5e00e1ef0536a.jpg352b33d254a98e0450a2b99dc2700669.jpg

The 20 is cool as long as you get rid of the two piece... ;) The ring and pinions are stronger than a 44...

Done correctly it's stronger than a Ford 9"

And the one with a wheelie bar is TJ stock would have been a Dana 35 trash

Just buying more parts, decided against Dana 35 as I don't believe it will hold up long term to the the Chevy drivetrain so sourced a nice Chevy 10 bold from a 4x4 ZR2 S10, 8.5", heavy axles Limited slip 3:73's drum brake version, I know a lot of them had disk but wanted to keep the rear drums, plenty for a Jeep with front disc.
Bought a nice aluminum billet Edelbrock air cleaner for the 350 to go with the billet valve covers.
Only slightly upgrading the front axle assy, going to use a TJ Dana 30 with 3:73's cutting and grinding off spring perches. It at least eliminates the 3 axle dilemma solenoid etc.

And weld the tubes to the pumpkin. I've seen them twist. I have one in my junk pile.

To much pressure on the skinny pedal ?

The AMC20 has a reputation for twisting tubes, along with a couple others, either from hard launches but mostly from slip and grap, especially in the midwest where more mudding and dirt racing was/is done especially with the older CJ's, and as old as they are you never know how the PO treated her if the original owner. Besure and keep it cool when welding the tubes, do short weld sections cooling inbetween, as tubes can warp and often transfer welding heat to the seal areas and end up leaking diff fluid shortly after, why most welding done on tubes during rebuild and replacement of seals etc.

Are you experimenting with the new Titanium ... toy...🤣🤣🤣

No, but tje rear end rusted by the tailgate hinge mounts so I have to cut out the rot and replace the entire rear crossmember. While I am at it I am also going to put in new aluminum brake lines
