What did you do to or with your CJ today?
No, but tje rear end rusted by the tailgate hinge mounts so I have to cut out the rot and replace the entire rear crossmember. While I am at it I am also going to put in new aluminum brake lines

Don't try to make aluminum brake lines. The tubing is usually seamed, the flares won't be double flares because you can't do the reverse bend as the flare splits and they are just not safe.
There are some who have used copper coated lines and there is a special new aluminum that is being developed but it requires some very specialized equipment.
IIRC, I know it's not approved for state side use and I'm pretty sure it is not Germany approved either.

Just get a set of stainless steel from inline tube the complete set pre made and ready for installation is only 170.00

Another strong brake line comes from Crown Performance. A stainless steel five layer brake line customizable if needed,

I agree, I like CP, but that's the flex lines - not the hard lines.

Very true. I wasn't thinking about the hard lines. Hard lines may indeed be a bugger to round up.

Went wheeling at the nearby Rampart Range. Escaped the heat for the day. Great time with my wife and daughter.
Came upon a guy who laid over his FJ going up a washed out hill section. I think he’s gonna be there for a while.

Pretty area. What was the temperature differences ?

Temperature difference? Not quite sure, but I’d say 10 degrees cooler. It’s about 9,250 feet where we were, compared to 6,650 at the house.

Purchased another CJ about 3 weeks back. A pretty much a stock 68 drivetrain with only the T-86 being replaced by a T-90 . Stock 4.88 gears, Kay Line rear tire/jerry can carrier, Warn OD, 3" BDS? springs, cheapo HF 8k winch, a funky roll cage bent up from huge 3" tube, along with the typical extra quarter turn Ross box, leaking shocks, hanging bumpstops and the usual leaks. I had two good Rancho RS5000 shocks left over from my last 3B reincarnation that were the right length and those are now on the rear. A second pair and a full set of Energy Suspension bumpstops should be here today. There are no plans to make this pretty, just going to drive it and do some moderate wheeling. I have a Warn 5721 Belleview style winch sitting in the garage that is going to get remotored with a 8274-50 motor that I also have for replacing the HF winch. That funky roll cage is also going to go away-way too much obstruction of the doorways.

That sounds good and is a candidate for your own build thread... :chug:

Looks clean from the pic

There really aren't any "build" plans other than to get it fully functional. The steering needs the most attention. It already has the 11" Bendix brakes on it which appear to work fine and the 225 runs great. Way more usable poop than the damn anemic 3.6 had in the JK I sent off to be someone else's problem a month back. In the real world, it should receive a NT Dana 30 and a Saginaw box but I'm not sure I want to head down that road with this one----yet.

One sort of built Jeep (the 3B) is probably enough.

I just pulled a 52 or 53 m38a1 into the garage for some work. I'll post a few pics when I get the chance.

She runs like dog poop and has almost zero brakes. Changed the plugs (best one pictured) adjusted the carb now on to dealing with the fuel system. I'll post again with more pics when I put her on the liftc6125e0ff1693338154abb41660c2d3f.jpg943ccd733f4a835b3dcb39ea86447b5d.jpg4263eace80a982ba1dba08003ba65a15.jpg

Well there's more problems with fuel than just carb adjustment it's leaking 7feb34a31ef0cf6c2066a2b2ccb079ea.jpga2513207e6b780eb6951cb3d12b4c5ab.jpg
