What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Cussed at it because the shifter broke on the happy SR4 tranny and nobody has1. So I'm about to make a repair with some steel.
 
I replaced the oil in the differentials. Did it the easy way, with a suction pump.
Now I'm ready for the Jeep-CJ.com trail ride.:D
 
i pushed my broken bronco in the garage with the CJ5 today. did the fuel pump thursday in the dark. works well. 4 wheel low is a beast!
 
I found a Ford Contour in the Wrecking yard Friday. So I decided to try the electric fan conversion. :D

Almost sold my jeep. almost! haha in my case the money didnt talk so I made him walk.
Dove in and replaced the rear pinion seal, rear brakes, drums and wheel cylinders.


Decided to keep the old girl around and tired of idiots that have no clue what they are looking at asking me questions.
You know the type you get off craiglist.:eek:
 
Finished making my SR4 shifter repair. As most of you know who had much experience with these. The ears are prone to break. So with a little work I made a new bottom and then had to grind and file til I got all my gears . I will work until the small blo
ck and different tranny go in.
 
Pulled my gas tank today. Never dropped the bigger tanks before that was a pain. Had it in the way of the differential cover.


Putting a new gasket on that tomorrow and cleaning out the differential and refilling. Then pressure washing the bottom and painting some under the tank.
 
Replaced battery and cable ends, cranks like a champ. Took daughter for a ride in the old girl back into the woods to target-shoot her favorite .22 rifle.

Our youngest son left for collage Sunday so, wifey and I loaded the tent and sleeping bag in the CJ and went up in the mountains to explore some backwoods trails.
 
Attached is an image of my 86 CJ7 taken at Bridgeport OHV Park just after extraction from a particularly muddy trail. Since this pic was taken in the spring my son & I have removed the brushguard and front bumper and replaced with a Rockhard front bumper and Ramsey winch.

Replaced carrier bearings, pinion shaft bearings and seals on front axle Dana 27A
 
Today..I bought a starter for it..couldnt figure out why it wont turn over..after trying a couple things that narrowed it down to either a setup eng or a starter..I removed the starter and tried jumping it with batt cables..it barely turned over..had autozone ck it and it failed not surprisingly although the starter looked like a new one..I think it just is too close to the header(3/4") maybe less..next step is to can the headers for some stock AMC 304 e-manifolds if I can find some
 
i pushed a broken down huyndai into the garage for repairs with it today
 
Today I stripped, degreased and under coated the wheel wells . To my dismay, undercoating bare metal is no good. All over again tomorrow.
 
Changed out my fuel pump, filter and part of the rotten fuel line. Finally get to start the jeep without hosing the carb down with starter fluid. Love It!
