What's is power steering?

Ok so I went to the junk yard today and got some info for my jeep. But I came across this axle with the cover off, and saw it had a locker :D sweeeeeet right, and it's spring over perches. Only thing is I don't know what locker it is or axle. Any thoughts.

Finally put my new engine and tranny in last night. I'm figuring about 6 more working hours before everything is back together and I can turn the key.

This morning I broke off a manifold bolt flush in the head !!! %^#%$&$ ME !!!

I've broken two drill bits and 1 easy out trying to get that damn grade 8 bolt out. First though I had to drill an 1 1/2 hole in my inner fender well to give me access to the damn thing. It was either that or pull the motor/Transmission I just put in....

Looks like I'm gonna have to drill it out and run a tap in it and hopefully clean up the threads....

DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN....(sorry CJ) DARN DARN DARN DARN

Use a left hand drill bit. It'll come right out.

Son hit a patch of ice and missed the driveway.:laugh:

I got the bushing kit that was back-ordered from Qtec today! :) Maybe one of these days I'll get to work on the Cj and install all these parts I've collected.

Got my bushings from O' Reilly's overnight, Autozone had them, too. Full set front and back $30.

Ok, so I either have to believe in divine intervention or there must be something that I do not understand. Admittedly, I have not driven my baby on the highway- note: I did this past week....And the next thing I know, she is running like a top. A possible explanation: finally blew out the stock CAT. Other, getting ready to throw a rod. Somehow the throttle started sticking, and now my engine seems to appreciate the fact that I put in the new Motorcraft carb. Anyone have any ideas? This baby sat for ten years on a farm in Clairemont California before I bought her. And, I have never really opened her up on the freeway. I did. And now all the blow back and hesitation seems to have disappeared. Am I just stupid? Fixed the oil leak in the valve gasket. Played with the throttle connection on the Motorcraft and increased the tension on the return spring- and she runs like a champ. Any ideas?

Could be all the work you have put into it is finally paying off. Good job and happy for ya.

Sounds like you took it out and blew out all the cobwebs and now it is happy. :chug:

Just got a Hobart Handler 140 mig welder for Christmas!! Rusty CJ parts beware.
I also ordered a bunch of parts that need replacing including a set of 1" lift polyurethane body mounts, new gas tank skid plate, and all the parts for the team rush up-grade.
So far this year (since July when I bought the Jeep) I have been busy replacing:
Suspension: Front leaf springs, shackles, and shocks, rear leaf springs, shackles, and shocks.
Brakes: Master cylinder, front calipers, brake shoes, and lines.
Engine: Valve cover gasket, rear main seal, and oil pan gasket.
Interior: All the gauges (went with Autometer Cobalt series), seat covers, and sun visors.
I thought my boat was expensive but it doesn't compare with this baby.
I'm afraid I have a lot of Winter left before Spring so I'm sure there will be more!!

Started a restoration under the hood. Plan on a redo without pulling the motor.
