What did you do to or with your CJ today?

Yeah, I'm going to use pedals, clutch M/C, brake booster and M/C, and prop valve from an XJ, but they need to be "modified" a bit to fit around my steering column unless the booster goes right above my valve cover. I've heard you need to shorten the pedals by about 3 inches, which I'm not worried about for the brakes because of power assist, but I am concerned about that in the clutch. I'll just have to mount the M/C as high as I can and trim as little as possible, if at all.

I'm not going to do anything about the heater right now though. I'll run without one until it gets cold enough to need one, at which point I'll start working on all the other stuff I didn't get to last winter: power Saginaw conversion, Bronco heater, OBA, OBW, light bar, front bumper...

If you have the standard Jeep pedals they should be about 16.5 " from the swing point to the foot push pad. And yes normally about 2" needs to come off.......but if you want your swings in the same location as the floor pedals I have just taken the pedals apart and bend an offset in them both so that they get back to near original location, basically splitting the column and you don't have to shorten them!
And yes the pedals need to be mounted high..........show me some pictures of what you have...........here is my pedal setup from the front with a 8" dual chamber booster and no adapter.........also check out my heater I'm building using some aftermarket parts......heat and defrost where and when you want it.

Went to a Jeep event and parked next to a 47 or 48 cj. Over 1500 jeeps. Also went topless for the first time. Driving a cj is something you cannot replace with anything else

Completed 95% of the prep work for road trip last night, still have to throw in the back seat and do final spare parts inventory and the Jeep will be ready to roll. All fluids are full and no leaks; I wonder how long that will last?

broke the new windshield glass (guy cut it a little big)
finally finished tying up the harness
finished mounting the seats
re bushinged steering column shaft wit steel ones and add grease zerks
rebuild seat belts
wash it
and maybe take it for a test drive

today nothing but.....Dad and I ran up to nashville to pick up his mig welder. Well ended up trading it in on a bigger miller mig, so I guess I need a tubing bender and some tube.
As for daughters, I have a 15 year old. I have a very simple phrase. "300 meters" That happens to be the zero on my savage .30-06 using 168 gr BTHP sierra matchkings moving at 2700 FPS.

Finished wiring under the dash. Had to replace fuel gauge because one the posts was broken on the back, so replaced the temp gauge as well since the speedo gauge was apart. Tomorrow I will take out the old wiring harness from the engine and hope to have the new harness installed and finished up by Sunday. :drool:

Not technically today, but just pulled the motor out and am getting ready to get it to the machine shop

Changed the leaking Transmission . pan gasket.
Oh well the fluid and filter needed changing anyway.
