I was also going to invite you to Camp with us in CO. We are going early and staying for some time after the group ride.
What, now it's off the table because I'm a new JK owner?

JK, pun intended

HaHa... Quite the opposite. :D:D
Since I "believed" (hook, line, and sinker) you would be driving out in your new JK (with the AC cranking) I thought you might stay longer than just one week. We plan to stay longer and camp - maybe take the CJ and camp at one of the sites we found along the trails. You and your "new JK" are welcome to join us....or even if you decide not to bring it and rent a jeep...Ha Ha Ha

Has to be a jeep, not a jeep, :chug:

I may now go buy a new Jeep :D, staying longer and camping sounds like a great idea. Kidding aside, I have no needs, and no wants. I'm happy with my CJs

Hi Carol

This weekend went to install my new lower steering shaft only to discover that the spline collar is WAY to tight to fit over the upper shaft splines. I almost destroyed my upper shaft trying to get it on, even after widening the collar. I eventually transferred all the good stuff from the new shaft onto the old shaft and reinstalled that.

No Bueno, Rockauto  ...no Bueno.

After that headache, I started it all up to burp the new gear box. Swiveled the steering several times, everything works perfectly. New power steering cooler seems to be doing it's job as near as I can tell (some hard core wheeling will be the real test)

I then rotated the Swampers and checked all the brake components while I had the tires off.

One other noteworthy event for the weekend....

As I was putting the left fender back on, I noticed that somehow the ICM plug end had gotten shattered off and the 4 wires were just dangling out of the box. The other thing I discovered is that the wires from the ICM do not match the wires from the loom as far as color coding.

That left me guessing which spade to plug into each of the slots on the loom plug.

First try was a no-go. Luckily after switching the green and the black wires, she fired up.

I was a little worried about frying the ICM doing this.....:D

Damn man - sorry... I've never had issues with them... Sucks that you did on my refferal.

Glad to hear you did get her done though...

:chug:

No worries, it could have been anyone. :chug:
I still appreciate the referral....they seem to be better priced than many.

Got up early, took he CJ out and picked up a Fender Acoustic/Electric Bass from a guy on Craigslist and gave it to a fellow in a Church band. He's been going through some hard times, this bass is FAR better than the one he's been struggling with, I hope it brightened his day.

A totally selfish thing for me to do, it made me feel good to do it, selfish...

Pulled the Jeep out of the garage for the first time in over a year. Scrubbed out the fender wells and applied a couple cans of undercoat.

Next couple of projects include installing my new propane tank brackets and re-welding a couple exhaust hangers.

Went and got registration on the old girl.
I walked in with no paperwork and the guy at the DMV had a heck of a time finding it on his computer. I told him it was a Jeep CJ7 , 84.

...Apparently I forgot to mention 3 little letters: AMC. the guy didn't even know what AMC was.....he was looking for Chrysler/Jeep.

Sign of the times

Spent the day wheeling, pics coming soon.
