Today I successfully updated the Holley Sniper firmware for the handheld unit and the ECU. Then we took it for a drive. This latest version is supposed to learn and control better. The jeep ran great!

Do you have the 2 barrel or the 4 barrel Holley Sniper?

I've been looking at the 2 barrel system, but haven't found anyone that's using it yet.

As for what did I do to MY CJ. I washed it, inside and out for the first time in years, maybe 3 or more, yesterday. Now I need to buy some new body plugs because I broke most of them getting them out

We have the two barrel Sniper. We are not using it to control timing. The hardest part in wiring it was finding a "clean" +12 volts in the on and run position. I didn't. So I used the ignition wire and a relay to provide that clean 12 volt source. We also went with an in tank fuel pump. I believe there are some pictures etc on our build thread.

And 007 was a great help even though he has the 4 barrel Sniper. Our AMC 304 is more suited for the two barrel. I'm still learning about it and it's constantly learning about our jeep. [emoji3]

Some block sanding
Taped off everything I didn’t want paint on
Laid a coat of primer

Been a while since I've posted, or had anything to post.... Mostly been driving it around town since my move from Texas to Arizona.
Today I replaced a broken engine mount, checked and topped off all fluids.
Tomorrow I'm going to drive it up to Sedona for a few days of mountain bike riding with the hopes of squeezing in a few jeep trails too. [emoji2]

Block sanded the primer
Final cleaning of the surface
Added top coat
I didn’t have room inside for the grill and tailgate so painted outside before it got dark
Had a small problem with moisture while shooting. It was 90 something degrees in the shop and I was wearing a hooded suit. The moisture came from me while I was leaning in shooting the floors, drip, drip
Not big deal its only the floors
I had previously mentioned the poor lighting in my shop, after I finished shooting I noticed a small piece of tape on the fender I had painted over, oh well I’ll correct that later
The paint I used takes 24 hours to cure, I’m betting it will be more like 30 with the weather conditions

Where do I begin? Well I drove the CJ to the auto store for some parts and discovered I couldn't turn the engine off. So a rack and sector gear was added to the list along with a new key cylinder.
Got home and while breaking down the steering column I noticed the smell of gasoline. Traced that to a pin hole in the fuel tank, pulled the skid plate to find the tank was rusted out and the pin hole was but a harbinger of bad juju.
Thought a quick epoxy patch would do until I could get a tank but nooooo. Sanding the rust away from the pin hole only led to a hole the size of a dime.
Okay, order tank, sending unit, straps, inlet and vent hoses...$300 lighter now.
Went back to the steering column, noticed the rack was a little stiff so pulled the shroud off only to have the key release mechanisms fall out. The plastic that retained the key release retaining screw in place was busted. Looks non obtainium. Using my favorite repair medium, JB Weld, and hoping it holds until I can afford a nice tilt column.
Still loving this thing despite all it's short falls.

While letting the fresh paint cure I took all the chrome hinges, brackets, and light rings to sand them down with 220 grit then 320. Added a couple coats of primer.

That is a rough day for sure. Glad you are taking care of it all and keeping a good attitude.

Removed fender flares to reveal PO did hackjob on wheelwells for tire clearance. Add two body panels and rear corners to plans.

Nice work and nice toolbox. I really like the color you are going with on Jeeps, it just seems to go well on them. You are really getting things done.
