What did you do to or with your CJ today?
I beat the snot out of a CJ yesterday. Did Black Bear in the morning and Imogene in the afternoon. Then just for giggles and grins, we did Brooklyn Pass on the way back to Silverton. It was dark when we got back but still a good day and the old CJ was still running great.
I love the Annual Colorado trail ride.

So small next to the car it looks like a new Mahindra. Not that I have Seen one in person, but the picture of one

Yep. It is tiny. That was what I thought too when I parked it there. Made that audi look huge. But the. Looking at the parking spot, I had tons of space around the Willys.

Hi beams haven't been working on my '76 CJ5 ...then recently, low beams were working, but not high beams. Then a couple days ago, neither were working. Pulled out the hi/low beam switch and the wiring plug was cracked and missing plastic, exposing the terminals...probably from stomping on it while pressing down the parking brake. Replaced the switch and cut off the old plug and used a DIY method of slip connectors because any wiring plug you get from the auto parts store only has 3 wires and 18ga wiring. I have mine set up with 16ga wires and a 4-wire setup for the hi-beam dash light.

Everything works like a champ now!

Nice! I also run a manual choke...... you will find it’ll serve double duty as a theft deterrent. Most ills will have absolutely no idea how to operate it LOL

I'm a manual choke guy also. Could never get my electric choke on the Webber to work right and the manual works great

My choke on my holley is sticking. I either need to close it with my hand before I start the Jeep, or sit after I start it and wait before leaving so it can warm up. Thinking about a manual choke. Or a new carb. Or FI. Have to make up my mind one of these days.

Just waiting to finish rebuilding an engine then swap it out and going FI and never looking back

My electrical choke was stuck in the half open position until the engine warmed up then it randomly either open up completely or close itself and kill the engine. Plus, I just like manual chokes better.

Heck, I have to say I forgot how much fun it is to work on car that is completely mechanical. I had not realized how much I had grown to despise OBD until I bought this Jeep where I can literally fix almost anything in my driveway.

No check engine lights, no auto door locks, no traction control, no lane departure or following distance warnings, and no stupid backup camera...... life is good......
