What did you do to or with your CJ today?

Put the 3b together enough to lead a trail run this weekend. Still have to paint the hood and windshield (next week).

Hopefully I’ll be loaded up and on the road by 4pm, once there I’ll setup camp and finish some needed electrical work and a TFI upgrade on the 3b before running the trail Saturday morning.

Although I didn’t finish this build in 5 weeks like I had hoped I did achieve my second goal of running it at fall crawl this weekend.



Took it for a test/fuel/parts run and it worked as it should. That short run produced half a dozen comments on the jeep and several thumbs up. I’m sure driving without the windshield caused some attention as well.

I dug it out of my buddies garage (It's home for the last 12 to 15 years). Loaded it up on a trailer and brought it home.

Added a side mount spare tire carrier to the 3a. Now I need to get that spare painted to match

I prefer the side tire mount as well on stock or close to stock early CJ’s.
Wish I knew you were looking for a stock mount have an extra I could have sent you. Anyways, matching paint will look fantastic, 2x w/pinstripe.

This reminds me of a friend that put his 3A under his barn every fall. One year the barn settled enough so that he couldn't get it out in the spring. Even with the air let out of his tires. I think it's still there today. I keep telling him that I'll Jack his barn up for the Jeep.

In the local mountians where I live it is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Groups and Clubs can adopt the 4wd trails and hiking trails and maintain them.

Today I loaded up the motor and took it up to be rebuilt. Then I emptied all of the loose parts out and washed it.

Went wheeling in PA yesterday and broke 3, yes I said 3, drive shaft u joints. Bought two, and installed them in the trail parking lot so that I could at least have the rear wheel drive for the 2.5 hour trip home.
