Saw a local Wrangler today that had the spare wrapped in garland - looked like a gynormous wreath...... big fat one. Very cool. Ideas for next year.

So Im new to this forum but commented briefly in a couple posts. I like this thread since it shows just how many people are actively working on or driving their CJ’s. Mine is a 1985 CJ7 , carbureted, T-5 , AMC20 rear, 4:56 gears, ARB, 32’s. And I gotta share this with the group. My teenage son and I have done a good bit of work on it, with plenty more to go. One of us is doing something to it just about every weekend. He and I recently gave it a tune up, replaced the tie rods and ends, gave it a driveway alignment, oil change, checked the fluids, replaced vacuum lines, installed a Grant steering wheel, put the hard top on for the winter, new motor mounts, got an exhaust leak fixed, and thats just in the last three weekends. He drives it daily, on the freeway, to high school and says its the coolest vehicle in the parking lot (apparently all the other kids agree too). Of all the new Jeeps out there, he still likes ours better - says its rugged, looks like it gets used off road (which it does) and he loves the simplicity of an older Jeep not covered in plastic. Thats my boy. Makes me proud.

Ok - Everyone else is thinkin it...... No pics or it never happened. LOL, seriously - We’d love to see a few pics..... they’re better than reading.

Now you’ve gone and ruined him. He’ll never get CJ’s out of his blood!! I guess he doesn’t realize he’s introducing a new generation to the joys of a CJ!! Well done.............

Thanks, and youre right - photos indeed help tell the story! The photo of working on it was a week ago, the others are from a trip up to Iron Lakes and Raymond Mountian in the sierras.

It seems like your jeep is keeping you busy.

Good looking Jeep and scenery !

Thats a good looking Jeep too!
Is it lifted a little bit?
Mine has a very old 4 in spring lift and 32 in tires. I'm 6 ft tall and have to step up into my jeep.

Mine has a very tired 4” spring lift as well - and I’m afraid if I replace it with a new 4” lift I’ll need a step ladder to get in it. I’m also afraid a 2.5” lift won’t be enough........ I like the way mine sets as it is - I’d love to know how close to current stature mine would be with a new 2.5” lift....... it looks very close to yours.

Thats a clean looking 5, dig that color.
Been thinking about a trailer like that. Good set up.

Thank you! Like most of us here, a lot of blood sweat, tears and dollar bills have gone into it.

I can't take credit for the paint, though. PO had it done...1976 Toyota Orange. When the sun is out, the paint seems to get brighter.

If you want to see what's under the hood, check out my 351w build thread...

Blood, sweat, and tears. Can definitely relate to that. I’ll check out your thread on the 351w.

I saw those. They are nice

What year is this emblem, or are all AMC years the same? My 86 just says Jeep, with a 'trumpet' character,
