I think the coolant leak is fixed yet again. This is ongoing and I will continue to try. Put my doors and windows back on its that time of year. Dreaming of jeep adventures while driving to get groceries.

It looks like your drag link is adjustable on both ends too! I plan to get back to the stock spring height on stock wheels. I don’t think I’ll be driving on anything that doesn’t at least marginally look like a road. I figured the stock components would work.

Texted the guy who sold the jeep to me. He bought the jeep in 2000, had no idea about the re-tub. So the brazing and body work was pre 2000.

Swapped out both pinion seals today and got the back driveshaft back in. I forgot to count the threads on the front diff when pulling the yoke off. *cringe*. I couldn’t torque it down with a torque wrench as the nut took more than the torque setting to even turn. I ended up setting it to where the yoke moved in and out a little, but not too much. Maybe 1/16th of an inch in and out? It still spins smoothly. Time will tell if I got it close.

Every AMC Inline-6 wants to run! 👍
Good move circumventing the gas tank, fuel lines, and sending unit. I would assume everything is rusted varnish after sitting for 21 years.

I remember my dad telling us stories about driving vehicles just like that on the road back in the 30s and 40s and because of rationing of gas, they figured out starting out with gas and when the engine was hot, switching over to diesel which was plentiful and just before turning the engine off, running it back on gas for a couple of minutes.

Is the lumber for the dock on the lake ?

Greased front end and driveshafts. Checked bolts on u joints. Checked all fluids. Checked some other nuts and bolts also for my mid week 4 wheeling trip to Arkansas. Few other small things to check. And get tools and extra parts together.

Today? pulled plugs and got a couple oz of Marvel mystery Oil in the cyls, ripped off the rectangular broken fog lights, (on a cj? Really! lol Also cut out the leaking gas tank without blowing myself up :)
and to top it off I found out someone before me liked to weld, A LOT. brackets and angle iron everywhere.
last week I got the dead starter out and tested, yup, its dead.
