Gert are you saying that you currently have a 3550 behind your 360 now or that you eventually want to put one there. If you have it installed we need to hop on PM because I have a lot of questions.

my drivelines have u-joints on each end:D
 
AMC 360 stock spec rebuild w/ Corvette Tuned Port Injection (About 85% complete)
T-176 - eventually to be replaced by an NV3550
Dana 300 - twin Sticked
W/T AMC20 - 3.31 gears factory Trac Loc
W/T Dana 30 front
 
Amc 360 from a79, total rebuild cam 4 bbl intake, Jeep T-18 , advanced adaptor to a Dana 300 , twin sticked. Have it all, still need to get it together.

Then maybe Tom Woods shaft with spicer u joints attached to a Dana 30 front with new gears and a AMC20 rear with single piece axle shaft. Still undecided on all this.
 
My 84 CJ7 hotrod -

Chevy smallblock 402, solid roller cam, roller rockers, forged internals, aluminum heads
TH350, TCI reverse manual, Alto clutches, Kolene steels, Kevlar band, 4000 stall torque converter
Dana 300 , twin-sticked with a 27 spline input
Narrowed 44 front, 12 bolt rear with 4.56 gears.

One of these days I may finish de-tuning the thing so I can actually DRIVE it again... :o
 
'73 CJ5 : Chevy 350, NP435, Dana 20 w/ Teralow 3.15 gears, Dana 30 front w/ 4.27s, disk brakes and lockright, Dana 44 rear w/ 4.27s and detroit locker

CJ8 : AMC 304 , T-150 , Dana 20 , 3.55 axle gears, Dana 30 front has lockright, AMC20 rear has rebuilt trac-loc and 1 piece axle shafts (future mods include Ford T-18 , Teralow gearset in Transfer Case , and lower axle gears)
 
When I bought my Jeep I was told it had a AMC 304 . After rebuilding the carb and tuning it, I thought...WOW, these AMC 304 's are bad Ars! Also thought, where have I been all my life, LOL, never was into AMC. So, had a broken motor mount, right side. When I changed it, saw the 360 stamped in the block....:cool:! And for a 76 CJ7 , and stock, the acceleration it has is very impressive. Coupled with the GM Turbo 400 ( automatic frees up a hand for a beer on the trail :D ). Anyway, love that 360! Rick
