When is a CJ no longer a CJ?

When is a CJ no longer a CJ?
Chevy jeep???:D

Yep they use Chevy transmissions, Chrysler transmissions, Buick V8, Dauntless Buick 225 V6 , Pontiac 4 Cyl., Ford ignitions, GM Steering box, GM steering columns, Ford starter solenoids. It's almost like it was engineer in someones Garage. Hummmm. Now that's a thought!:D

If a HOT dingy girl asks, "is that a Suzuki Samurai?" It is now a Samurai. Or what ever she wants it to be.:D

Tires are a maintennance item, and meant to be changed. Lift, as long as It's in line with what was stock regardless of height, is no big deal. Engine swaps? If it was offered by the original manufacturer, is a simple swap with little modification. Bodies and frames are not going to last forever, so replacing one with one manufactured to be as close to what Jeep had intended....no big deal. Bolt on "stuff" like skids or winches don't detract from it being a Jeep. From what I can tell, there are 3 schools of thought on a Jeep. Pristene stock show Jeep. A workin Jeep that,s just a Jeep with some extra help bolt ons and tweiking, and People that like the idea of a Jeep, but have everything about them, so they build a chasis with parts from other auto makers and major aftermarket parts and stick a jeep body on it. You're right though, as long as you like it, who gives a :dung:. But at some point, there is a line crossed where a Jeep is no longer a Jeep. An Airsoft rifle does not an M-4 make. Sure looks like one though.
I guess if going with that analogy, I'd have to take the M-4. But of coarse I'd want the piston upper!

BAH! Piston upper?????!!!!!! Then it's not an M-4 anymore!!!

the first cj, CJ2a was really not as late models but cj so far as the change is concerned by upgrading look to somethink funky style cj lost its real style and look..

Hello geojawaid and welcome to the site! :chug:

Sounds like you and Coldwater pretty much agree - you like an original looking CJ... :)

My JK looks more like a CJ than YJs did!

honestly, I like all Jeeps. I have owned so many over the years, my family has had them since I was born all over the farm.

I hate my JK doesn't have a factory V8 but what can ya do? We'll see what the future holds for it.

As far as Jk bashing, I am used to it. I sold my Rubi TJ for it and haven't heard the end of it for almost 2.5 years now.

I also ride a Harley V-Rod. Needless to say, the Harley riders are much worse on me for that than fellow Jeepers are of my JK. LOL
