When is a CJ no longer a CJ?
I guess if going with that analogy, I'd have to take the M-4. But of coarse I'd want the piston upper!Tires are a maintennance item, and meant to be changed. Lift, as long as It's in line with what was stock regardless of height, is no big deal. Engine swaps? If it was offered by the original manufacturer, is a simple swap with little modification. Bodies and frames are not going to last forever, so replacing one with one manufactured to be as close to what Jeep had intended....no big deal. Bolt on "stuff" like skids or winches don't detract from it being a Jeep. From what I can tell, there are 3 schools of thought on a Jeep. Pristene stock show Jeep. A workin Jeep that,s just a Jeep with some extra help bolt ons and tweiking, and People that like the idea of a Jeep, but have everything about them, so they build a chasis with parts from other auto makers and major aftermarket parts and stick a jeep body on it. You're right though, as long as you like it, who gives a. But at some point, there is a line crossed where a Jeep is no longer a Jeep. An Airsoft rifle does not an M-4 make. Sure looks like one though.
