So, I bought a bargain YJ windscreen, brought it home, and realized the two front holes for the mounting bracket on the right side had no threaded nuts. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and how they fixed it.

As of right now, I'm thinking of welding a pair of ⁵/₁₆" nuts onto a piece of 16G steel and sliding it through the wiper ducts.

Anyone got a better idea?
Love to hear it!

Thanks!

Vince

Oh boy that sucks......I like the idea of sliding a sheet with nuts welded on it

I don't have any other ideas, unless you want to try rivnuts. I would provide you a link but I can't right now. Just google rivnuts.

I just saw these for the 1st time today, because I read your post. Those are quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

rivnuts are kind of expensive and you need special tools to insert them. a bit much for two nuts. I would superglue a nut on the end of a coat hanger wire and slide it through the WW hole. all you have to do is get it started. would use flange nuts with gripping surface.
this promises to be a whole new version of "frustrating", good luck.
