I know what you're saying, but who says mine won't be as nice? I have access to rigid benders, I'm an electrician by trade and have been bending conduit for nearly 30 yrs. I'm not doing it myself to save any money, I'm doing it because I can, and I plan on building several more Jeeps, once I get my shop built, and maybe turn it into a business... we'll see. I want the flexability to design what I want and build it how I like it, not be conformed to what's available on the market... :D

If you are going to start making some to sell few idea's for you

1. do round rear flares that match CJ ones but with a bigger radius for larger tyres about same size opening as TJ flares but in round profiled flare would be good
2. Fronts put a rolled front edge on them so they dont look like the flying nun when coming down the road at you I think about half of what a CJ fender has should be enough but you will need to play with the balance to get them looking right. This would give you a hybrid with the strength and wheel opening of a tube flare but look a little more "stock....ish" :chug:

I have also considered doing a tube fender that still takes the rubber flare so it looks a little more CJ but gives more opening and strength

I think this would give you something that differentiate yourself plus provide a better product than is on the market today :chug:

Those are my thoughts exactly on these fenders, I like the round fender look and nobody makes'em that way.. and your front fender idea is great, I've seen someone on this site that trimmed off the lip all around and across the front, you know, down to the raised edge.. and I thought it looked great, could do something similar and add the tubing to the lip for reinforement.. I've got a lot of ideas going down on paper, I should be getting my tube bender this month and be able to do some mock-ups on my CJ7 .. I think I've got my buddy talked in to letting go of his CJ5 as well, so I'll have a couple test mules by the end of the month...:D

Make sure you put up some pictures as you sort them out and if you can hit a good price and some cheap shipping I may be keen
