The old one would still have slop in it from age, I felt I would never get rid of it


The borgenson has zero slop in it that’s one of the biggest thing I like about it and it’s American made

I wanted to get rid of all the slop I could in my steering, I’ve got a fairly tight steering in mine and want to keep it that way

Man I I finally got off my butt and tried to tighten the exhaust up to get the leak to stop and it worked for now, the pipe between the exhaust crossover to cat converter came loose so I was able to use a ratchet strap from the bumper to the back of the muffler and was able to pull it up enough to get a clamp on it and it worked......for now anyway, I want go back and put a few spot welds on it so it can’t back off

So much quieter and has a deep throaty sound coming from the tail pipe that I couldn’t hear before I like it

Wow just wow......... everything fits and it looks like it’s not leaking so far, I swapped power steering pumps out while I was at it

I see why you would want this gear box over others it has the large bore on it and I can drive around using my fingers..... she is touchy lane changes are easy and fast lol

Glad this one worked out for ya!!
As far as steering dampers??? Mine had one on it when I purchased it and I just left it on there. It's probably been on there for 20+ years and probably doesn't even function.

Think he took it off day 1 35 years ago. I've had mine on 36 years. I'm going to need some new u bolts for mine soon. Getting a new HD tie rod & drag link made and doing the flip on to the top side.

Mine had one when I bought it. When I got it back together and back on the road, I couldn’t find it. After a week or so, I decided not to put it back. This one doesn’t need one. I’d say with all steering linkage pieces being tight, they aren’t necessary - but I like the looks.

Mine is also tight with no death wobble at all

Day 2...... my Jeep kinda feels like I added power steering to a go cart lol, I really can’t use more than 3 fingers to steer or I oversteer? Hard to describe

Feels kinda like I have no weight on the front end

With all that power, There's most likely not much weight on the front end.

I hate valve covers, seems like every vehicle I have ever had had a leak including this Jeep.... time for another set of gaskets

I’m trying to be patient and let the rtv tack up good before I put the covers back on
