So I've been reading and I understand that there should be a piece of the bearing casing protruding from the differential that's the why off The Shims. Now mine seems to be different it is not protruding, does that means that I don't have to use the shims?

You have a picture of the bearing race, I'm thinking the bearing would protrude once it's installed in the race.

That's exactly right. I had mine apart last night so I know this to be true....that and I reviewed the install instructions for my 1-piece shafts. You have to "dry run" the races and bearings to dictate whether or not you have to shim it.

A dial indicator with a magnetic base really helps here for measuring the play.
