Any one interested in buying pre-made head light upgrade harnesses?

Any one interested in buying pre-made head light upgrade harnesses?
Hey Jimbo,
You make accessory light harnesses too. I'm itchin' to install my KC Daylighters and KC fog lamps that I've had for years.

I'd like to do the spots with a rocker switch in the dash and also have them integrated with the floor dimmer switch 'cause, if they're on the high beams ought to be on as well.

Just want to run the fogs through a rocker switch on the dash.

Give me your input and suggestions. I value your expertise and dedication to the lighting cause :notworthy:. I could do it myself, but I'd be starting from scratch (materials wise). Probably take me six months to even get started; already working on four different vehicles of mine at the same time

By the way, I still say installing your headlight relay harness upgrade was the best so called modification to my rig, so far! Wonder why the manufacturers never thought of it?????

The other advantage to using a harness like this is it takes the load off your head light switch which is a very common overheat and fail/fire point of many CJ's and YJ's.

The sole reason I changed over to a relay harness on my CJ. One look at the light switch and I realized that it was a failure point that needed to be corrected. The harness I used (from RJM) required a bit of Hack Fabrication to work, as it was designed for a Bronco.

I needed to install a Ford plug into the switch to headlight harness:

Once that was accomplished it was 'plug and play':

When and IF I ever get my CJ back, I'll be ordering a custom harness from you for rear lighting.

Hi Jimbo I to will be interested in buying a harness. Right now I am restoring the body. This is my latest project. I'm always interested in upgrades. My Jeep is a 1985 CJ7 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l six.

Hey guys.. Sorry I'm not getting my notifications. I got 2 harnesses I'm working on now. If your interested in one please shoot me a pm. If you want a fog light or accessory harness shoot me a pm also..

Hey Jimbo, PP sent. I look forward to getting this done.

Thanks again,

Dan

Got mine in the mail the other day. Looks good, can't wait for some free time to install!

Thanks Jim,

Got mine today. Won't get a chance to install for a few weeks. Harness are very well made and am looking forward to installing. Thanks Jimbo:chug:

Jim(OP)-A couple of questions.
1-When you ck'd voltage with the OEM set up. Did you ck it with the engine run'n or off?
2-When you ck'd the voltage-Did you disco the two h'lights and then take a reading?
Thx for your time-
Respectfully,
LG

Any updates??
FWIW: With my engine run'n at idle. I show 12.55 vdc at the h'light plug with OEM harness.

So sorry.. I don't get notifications. When I test em I do it it with lights on, engine running. I probe the back of the sockets. Also check your reading against what you when you probe from the lug on the back of the alternator and the to the negative on the battery. With it at idle you should be getting 14.?? Volts. If not your alternator needs to be tested.

Jim-I just ck'd mine again and it's 13.55 vdc. Who knows why I post'd 12:rolleyes:

Sure wish the HMFIC of this site would fix the notification deal, cause I don't get'em either.

That's some really good voltage at the plug. Have you upgraded your electrical or added better grounds?

If your switch is not getting hot and your getting 13.5 volts I wouldn't worry about a relay system.

Yes on improve'd gnd all around the Jeep.
Switch is 'cool', so it's GTG.
I do live in the desert and the Jeep is park'd in a garage.
Not bad for almost 30 years old. I am OCD on PM tho---:D

I'm looking to get a headlight harness. I just got a 84 CJ7 and this sounds like exactly what I need. I've had to drive around with my brights on at night to see anything. Pretty sure everything to the headlights are stock. Are you still making these? Thanks....jed

jimbo could you send me a pm. Wondering about a harness if you are still doing it. thanks
