I think i got one of your kits from you last year, but on jeepforums. This has been one of the best upgrades I have done to my jeep. Beautiful perfect white light with no flickering and heated switch and no yellowing and drawing the alternator down so badly. Everyone should do this upgrade, it was so easy to plug everything in, just like you had said it would be

Just installed this in the Jeep and WOW what a difference! Quick install, get product! BEST $ I'VE SPENT ON THE JEEP. It's going to be a good ride home tonight! :)

Hey mike I am currently not making them. I was planning on stopping but I just had a bunch of people asking for em. I can make a few more but unfortunately I tires up for the next few weeks. I've got a few road trips planned so I won't be near the house. I can probably get back to them early in august. I can send you a list of materials I use and some directions on how to make em if you do t want to wait of put you on the list for august. They cost $65 shipped and that can be pay paled to me.

Hey Jimbo, I'm also interested in a kit. As far as August is concerned, that is fine on the timing. I can wait til then.

Let me know if you can and will still make a few for us wanting to us this great upgrade. Just send me a pm when you get the chance.

Hope you're takin' the Jeep on those road trips.:chug:

Thanks again,

Dan

Al righty folks.
Im gonna put an order in for enough materials to make 10 or so harnesses. Nows the time to let me know if your interested in one.

Question Jim. I'm planning on making my own and I've got all my parts and pieces except one. Where do you get the male plug that would plug into the factory female 3 prong headlight plug? I was just going to do 3 separate spades but a female plug would be nice.

Your actually looking for a male connector. P59mth3 packard electrical terminals oem automotive electrical wiring terminals & wiring supplies

The flat blades for it are p59mt(b or c)

Here's another company that makes em.
59 SERIES UNSEALED, DELPHI/PACKARD TERMINALS & CONNECTORS, CONNECTORS - Terminal Supply Company - Product Catalog

I think both of those places have minimum prices. I think I have an extra socket and terminals. If you can't get them through those 2 places let me know and I'll sell you one.

That's exactly what I mean. Are those places wholesale, cause they wouldn't show any prices? The one place only said $20 minimum. If you wouldn't mind selling me 2 that would be great. I have the Packard 56 males terminals (.25 split tab), will they work?

Jimbo I'll take a harness. Just let me know what your paypal is, and I'll send over the 65$ when you tell me.

THX,
Dave

I don't think so. 56's are smaller then 59's. Want me to add some wires to it to make it like a pig tail. All you need to do is hook it up to your system.

Just got my harness in the mail today - Looks VERY nice!! Can't use it yet as I'm still in destruction mode...... But as nice as it looks, if I never use it it's worth the money just to look at it!!!

I looked into this as I work for a company that makes these types of harnesses. I checked with my meter and I am loosing .3V from the alternator output to the the passenger side headlight socket, with the lights on. Not enough to worry about. The factory wiring is quite sufficient. It's kinda dumb to spend $90 to gain 4% brighter lights.

Thanks for the input.. You must have an amazing jeep to loose only .3 volts. Every jeep I've installed this in were only getting 11ish volts at the plug. Every one who has installed it has reported a great increase light and no more over heating of the switch.

I'll get a lot of emails from people asking if they should install this and I tell them if they are not sure to go check the voltage at the sockets.. They have all reported back the same results with the after voltage being a lot higher.

I'm sure you can contact any of the members that have order these from me on here and they will give you a biased opinion on them.

Not quite sure where you got the $90 from. I only ask $65 shipped.

I have also had numerous member talk with me about the price and I've gone as far as sending them part #s and directions to build their own. I really don't care how they get their light output improved as long as they do it. I only make $15-20 on these after shipping so I'm not some huge company trying to make a million dollars. I understand a lot of people have fears of cutting into their stock harnesses so input this together so they don't have to.

Any chance you can tell me what your voltage was at the alternator and plug?

I think they made a huge difference in the output of the stock lights. Not as much as the Rigid LED D2 Duallys that I installed, but significantly brighter than stock.

If you're like the 99.9% of CJ'ers that don't have .3V drop, but instead have more, then it's a worthwhile investment.:chug:

Sorry for the delay. But I had 13.8V at the alternator and 13.5V at the headlight socket.

You got some fantastic wiring then.. Does that Chevy motor have a higher out put Alternator? The only jeep that Ive tested that was even close to what the alternator puts out was a TJ. 14.2 at the alternator and he showed 13.2 at the plug.. Ive tested a lot of CJ's, YJ, XJ, FSJ and a few chevy's and fords and they all had the same results. The other advantage to using a harness like this is it takes the load off your head light switch which is a very common overheat and fail/fire point of many CJ's and YJ's.
