Broken lower Alternator Bracket

Anyone have a quick fix for a broken lower alternator bracket (besides replacement that is impossible to find) for a '69 CJ5 with Dauntless Buick 225 V6 V6?

If you have the pieces, you can find somebody to TIG it for you. I am assuming the bracket is cast aluminum.

Thanks - its not broke off but certainly cracked. Wasn't sure you can get a solid weld on castle aluminum.

Works great to fix cast Al with a Tig welder. Grind the crack down and open it up a bit and weld it all back up. Has to be REALLY clean. Use IPA to get all the grease off. When you think it's clean, clean it again!


This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

Believe it or not, this stuff works pretty well.

I have a TIG welder and am pretty good at using it and I have used this stuff a couple of times with excellent results.

It is a bit expensive but a lot cheaper than a welding machine.
