Sorry if this has been asked before. Didn't pop right up, so thought I'd ask. First, I'm not sure if the TF999 and Dana 300 share fluid or not, but guessing they are separate sealed and shaft connected. If not, then easy answer. If separate, I've read conflicting information regarding the TC fluid 9ATF in manual, but corrected later if a 4-5 speed manual, etc., etc., etc. So, ATF or gear lube for the TC with a TF999 ? Thanks and again, sorry if I missed this issue being addressed previously.

ATF in a Dana 300 is probably going to result in "Bad Things Happening", unless you are perhaps wheeling in temps below 10 degrees F. I think the manual specifies 80w-90, unless I am remembering it wrong.

If your AT and Dana 300 are sharing fluid, you have lost a seal somewhere.

The oil in the manual hasn't been made in 25 yrs. It was called 'stink oil' for a good reason.
Just get some std 80W-90 gear oil and all will be fine. :notworthy:
