I am still in the process of getting my Dana 30 front end rebuilt. I had the unit sandblasted so I could paint. I had it pretty sealed up but of course :dung: got inside.

While cleaning it up I removed the pinion and noticed the races are a bit scarred. Since I am in there I decided to replace the inner and outer pinion bearings.

My question is, do I need to re-shim it or can I use the existing shim stacks and simply install the new bearings or do I need to reset up the pinion gear?

Thank you.

Put it back together and do a pattern, and backlash check.
