Ok so I am in the process of replacing the exhaust line on my CJ5 . I'm going to stick with the stock set up. But, I do want to leave out the cat converter. What I'm wondering is, how do I connect the muffler to the crossover pipe? Do i need to insert some piping where the cat used to be? Or do I attach the muffler directly to the crossover pipe? If the muffler goes directly onto the crossover, is there a longer tail pipe that will still travel to the rear for exhaust ventilation?

Thanks for any info you guys have to offer.

Spend a few $ - hit your local muffler shop and have them fab a cat bypass pipe... :) Should be relatively cheap... That is what they do for a living! :chug:
