Well my restore of setting for 12 years CJ7 hit a small snag when I went to install Spartan Locker in the rear of my AMC20 , opened it up well the old beast has factory trac lock so no big deal save the locker for the regear, new carrier after hunting season. however the Genuine gear one piece axles are a mess

PO installed them with no preload about 1/4 play, bearing slopping around and Chinese junk, got two different inboard axles seals so Randy's Pinion was great as Genuine gear is history swallowed up by Transamerica (4wd parts) those experts told me when I called to see what seals and bearing to use to go to Napa and get the factory ones:eek: Seems mine have the same Timkin 9 bearing set that they use on the brand they carry and the same install, so shipping new bearing and seals and shim kit. I have to see if I can save it if not Moser will be next. I got the lockers from them and I buy whatever I need, big box stores/internet sales like 4wd just kill customer service.

Anyone know which seal was correct or any other words of wisdom, cannot wait to spread the axle gears to get the clutch's back in or press off the bearings .

You can see the bearing race got no shim behind it so it is inset fair amount

or whatever you may think feel free thanks

The bearing were installed backwards by PO, new Yukon parts fit the shafts fine. Putting the trac loc clutches in was not too bad so on to front locker and hopefully no more surprises. So if anyone had the Genuine axle kits Yukon bearings, seals and spacer fit fine. I did get the oringal install instructions from the PO and shows the bearing going the other way with the big end towards the pumpkin, PO still had paperwork 1999:D
