The FSM calls for 85W-90 for the diffs, tranny, and transfer, I double checked this yesterday to be sure. I have to go by the parts store today to get a head gasket and head bolts for my son's car (a whole separate story here). Would it make a huge difference if I put 80W-90 in instead?

I can get a 5 gallon jug of 80W-90 for €40 vice paying over €60 for a 5 gallon jug of 85W-90 that they have to special order. Matter of fact, my local parts guy looked at me funny when I told him 85W-90 was called for.

No difference at all. :chug:
If you run a clutch type LSD diff-get the friction modifier additive for that diff

You'll be fine. TThat's what I'm using...

I kind of figured 80W-90 would be ok. Just wanted to be sure
