My headlights randomly quit working. They literally worked yesterday, and don't any longer. The parking lights come on just fine, but no headlights. I'm not much of an electrical guy and just don't know where to start. It feels like it could be the switch but how can I know for sure?

Thanks,

Trigger

smart money is on the ground connection. Chase that down from the bulb plug and wire to the negative side of the battery to be sure of a good ground.

You can start by wiggling the ground to see if it is loose/ corroded/ rusted.:D

Grounds were good. It was a dirty/corroded contact in the switch. Cleaned it up w/some emery cloth and a bit of light bulb grease and we are back in business. :chug:

My headlights stopped working awhile back. Faulty foot switch. Omix replacement works pretty well now.

Going to bat for Jimbo76cj on this one. Get one of his relay headlight harnesses. You won't regret it. Got to be one of the best $60 I've spent on my CJ in a long time. My dimmer switch would overheat and cause the high beams to cut out going down the road. After the harness install, I don't even need to replace the dimmer switch if I don't want to. And both dim and high beams are tons brighter than they've ever been. That alone was worth the investment.
