Only issue is most of these are made in China and aren't really that great. I've installed a few and they really only lasted about a year or so. On top of that yours should be a 1.08 venturi but the aftermarket units don't measure up correctly

Sigh. I have some leakage around the throttle shafts too. I’m not exactly sure how to stop that.
They sell replacement shaft plastic or bronze bushings and just about everything else. Remember, this was the standard 2bbl ford carb also. ;)

Or you can step up and put EFI on it. There are some great options from Holley and ACES

Ethanol kills carbs

I have a 2100 on my jeep. It’s visually missing parts, including the id tag, I think it’s probably best to just replace it rather than rebuild it. Since it’s not always easy to find them in the junkyard anymore, new might be the answer.

Is this the right carb? It’s a direct replacement for the AMC 304s.

I have the Holley bbl on my AMC 304 V8. Had to overhaul it when I first got it but it seems to be a good match. The pic is before the overhaul. I need an “after” pic!

Depending on what you need I have a small pile of 2100s here I might be able to get you parts

The only part I know for sure is missing is the choke pull off cover. It’s on the top of the carb to the rear of the butterfly. And I get a little seepage around the throttle shafts. I assume that will cause vacuum issues, but it generally starts right up in warmer weather and seems to run well, but rich. I think that’s the choke issue. The thing in the pic sticks up through it. I started it this weekend mid 30s and it ran rough for a while. Again, choke issue.

I get a single pop when I turn it off sometimes through the exhaust. It might be timing, or air through a muffler hole igniting fuel, but I bet it’s that choke making it run rich.

So this is slightly different since it's a motor craft not Holley. But they are essentially the same and iirc this would've been what was originally on the AMC 304 .

My '78 Jeep came with a Holly 4412-2 2bbl carb. Because the Holley was never approved for use in CA, even though it passed the emissions test, I was forced to put an MC2100 back on it, per CA regulations. Earlier this year (2025), I could find no new, rebuilt or rebuildable MC2100s anywhere. So, after talking with the friendly folks at UREMCO, I purchased their rebuilt Chinese version. So far, my AMC 304 V8 is running well. I would advise, should you go this route, however, that you pull of the top of the carb and check the float setting, at the very least. On mine, the float was way off.

Good info and I am glad it is working for you.

I think I’ll be fooling with my 2100 for a bit more, but if I do swap it, do you know which Uremco you ordered?

Yes, it's a 10-10047. I did not mention previously, that I also bought two metering jets from mikescarb.com (120-4-49). The two, plus shipping, cost all of $15. The jets that came with the new carb were not marked, so I bought US-made jets that were marked. I wanted to be sure I had the right jets for my AMC 304 engine. Mike's Carbs has jets, gaskets, spacers, etc. I also added an electric choke from Mike's.
