Can anyone tell me if this camshaft sprocket is vintage 1977? Taken off my CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l today aluminum hub nylon teeth. Thoughts?

If it has the nylon teeth it probably is stock. I have never seen a replacement with nylon teeth. But I haven't seen everything.

WOW that’s crazy if that’s true, the chain had about 3/4” of play.

What I have found is when the chain stretches it starts eating up the nylon teeth.

True of most all chains right? Gear wear falls over into chain, chain to gear.

Whilst changing the oil pan gasket I noticed the droopy chain otherwise it would have probably stayed in until something catastrophic happened LOL It is amazing how well it runs now...
