Was driving her today and got home, noticed oil dripping from under the hood and down below. Opened the hood and lots of oil had sprayed (passenger side) and coated everything on that side of the engine bay.

I started her back up. I dont see anything spraying. I do see oil dripping from the middle of the engine at teh drip pan. I dont believe a leak from the drip pan would spray like that would it? Seems to me it is probably a head gasket leak. It does have the stock plastic cover installed. I read that they are problematic.

I guess i just need to clean her up and inspect for leakage. Just wanted you guys thoughts on this leak. Appreciate it!

The only thing that I can think of on the passenger side besides the valve cover that might leak is the oil filter.

Ck the fittings around the oil pressure sending unit.
When is the last time the PCV valve was cleaned.
Look around the dip-stick fitting also.

I'd be surprised if you managed to figure out the cause with everything coated with oil.

Give it a hosing, top it off with oil if it's low and give it a short drive. Maybe you'll get lucky and will only have oil in and around where the leak is.

If you don't go too far, you could take the belt(s) off so the fan and accessories wouldn't contribute to the broadcasting of oil. If you do that, start with a cold engine and stay close to the house!

Thanks all. I found the issue, im an idiot! :o

Haha. I did have to clean it all first. Then i turned the engine on and crawled under her and watched. Ill be damned if it didnt start leaking from the mechanical fuel pump that i replaced last week. It was then that it struck me. I forgot to seal her up with ATV when i installed it. Doh! Gotta take the pump back off and seal it up tonight. Thanks all!

I would think just the gasket would have sealed it, maybe the pumps mounting surface was warped as it is probably a cast surface. Glad you got your leak fixed.

:chug:
Glad it's an easy fix.

Try just tightening up the pump. Fuel pumps can be a bit of a pain to get evenly tightened. The spring pressure on the pump arm can give a false tight feeling. I usually tighten the pump until it feels right then start the engine. Just for a second so the cam turns a little, then check the bolts, sometimes I'll do it again just to make sure. After your first long run check them one more time and you'll likely never need to touch them again.
