I'm looking to buy a new oil pan for my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . The ones that I've found are Doorman and Omix-ada. Does anyone have any info on either one of these? The Omix-ada ones are a little more expensive,$30-$40, But I don't mind paying the extra if they are better.

If your going original 79 and down came from the factory with a skid plate.

L.G. Thanks for the info. I would have thought that the more expensive one would have been better. As far as used, I've not had good luck with them. At least not here in the north east. They rust between the skid and the pan. For the price of around $80, I think that I'll go with new.
Posi. Mine had an original pan from 88 and it had the skid plate. I'm not sure if they all had it but I have a stack of them sitting next to my dented hoods out behind the garage ranging from 78 to 86. All with skids.

Interesting, maybe the 80's CJs I've owned in the past and the one on my engine stand had/have aftermarket pans. Would make sense in NE.

If you don't need "new" look around for a factory original oil pan from a dead engine... bone yard, craigslist etc.

If you want new, I have no experience with these products, but the Spectrum line might be made in Canada....
