Genuine Gear one piece kit is 199.99 with free shipping. Anyone using this one? Opinions? Any reason why I should look at another? My AMC20 let go yesterday.

Superior and Moser get the best reviews on the site.

:agree: sorry don't know anyone running GG but the 2 companies above have a lot of happy customers.

I might try the Genuine Gear product IF they are made in the USA...trying to find info.

Their gear sets are called "genuwhine" because their poor quality leads them to make a bunch of noise. That company is part of a huge corp that specializes in buying up companies for their name, cheapening up the products, and foisting them off through their mail-order business. They have done with pro comp, smittybuilt, and others and recently bought out rubicon express. They are Transamerican Auto and sell as 4 wheel Drive Hardware & 4 wheel parts (4wd.com) ...I bet most of you thought that those two competed against each other but they are the same.

It is one thing to find a company that has good prices on known products but another thing entirely for the company to sell 2nd rate China junk like G2/Transamerican does.

The argument over whether throwing money at a M20 to fix just one of its serious issues rather than replacing it with a better bolt-in axle for less money is a wise decision or not is an old one with purist pointing out the sinking a few hundred bucks into a M20 is worth it while others say spending the same money on a better out of the box axle is a better investment. Spending hundreds on a M20 will get you an axle equal to a stock Dana 44 ..but where do you end up spending that same money on buying and upgrading that Dana 44 ???:chug:

Mind if I ask where you purchased them from and about what you paid? You can send me a PM if you feel better. I'm looking @ Moser's myself. Are you just replacing the axles or are you re-gearing as well???

I don't mind sharing. I bought direct from Moser Engineering. ~$320 including shipping. In stock and shipped the same day. 2 day ship time for me.

I will not be regearing at this time. Need to, but have another child due in less than 2 weeks...so priorities will win out. Just trying to get back up and running. Plan on regearing with lockers front and rear late summer.

Cool thanks, congrats on the new wheeler... :chug:

I 15 years on my moser axles and not a failure yet and they live behind V8 power. On the shafts that is. The bearings have failed twice but that is expected because they used roller bearings back then. Not sure if they use tapered bearings now or rollers.
