On my '80 CJ7 I pulled both rear springs to remove a leaf, trying (I did) to dial the ride down a bit. Reading the HowTo Books, Moses Ludel, Chilton's, 4X4 Performance Manual, I marked the driveshaft to the yokes to keep the same orientation upon re-install.

It is all back together, but I don't remember if I honored the marks on the driveshaft. There are new yokes and u-joints at both ends where I disconnected the driveshaft. I cleaned and over-painted the driveshaft, so any marks would be near-impossible to find.

Now I have a slight buzz of a vibration under power, that stops when the go-pedal is released. Wasn't there before I removed the springs and rear axle.

Please would someone with more experience than I tell me some things to begin to look at?

Red driveshaft, well that there's your problem........ :)

If it were me and if I were worried about it, I'd grease the driveshaft, remove the axle end and turn it 180. If the buzz is gone .... WINNER .... If not, learn to live with it.

If the yokes and joints are new it shouldn't matter what way you put it back together.
