CJ I ordered a body bushing kit with the body from Willy's Overland. Jay told me the holes on the mounts may be a little small but just bore them out the 1/16th and all should fit great.

I've been seriously considering ordering a new "tub" for the '69 Bronco I'm working on. A big investment, but it could save me years of bodywork time and end up being not much more $ in the end.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes for ya. I'm sure you'll still have to do some work to it (maybe seam-sealing, priming & tweaking steel here and there). But, it should still set you way ahead in the game, if it's a quality body.

Ok I’ve cleaned and gotten the wheel lock working. Does it matter if the splines don’t line up when re-installing the lock to the hub. Can’t seem to get them lined up

I guess I don't quite follow what you mean by "splines don't line up".

The gear inside when I install it with it turned to 4x4. So it’s extended the gear will not line up or slip over the axle splines. I’ve tried rotating it and it doesn’t slip on. Just compresses those springs.

Repro seat belts cheap. There are a bunch of ones that are very close to OEM on Amazon for very little money. Just put in "CJ7 Seat Belts", and a bunch of options come up. The original one's I've seen for sale were much more and usually a little janky. If you are not wed to OEM, and just want a look alike that has "push" printed on the release tab that's the way to go. I got a pair of retractable two points for like $40.

Did you get it to slip on/engage?

Yes, the gear inside the housing should slide onto the axle stub splines. The inner gear is pushed by that metal plate with the 4 springs as it threads on that gold-colored barrel. If the inner gear doesn't quite line up with the axle stub splines, the pressure from the springs will eventually slide it onto the stub shaft as soon as the Jeep moves.

You’ll get it working.:tu:
To verify, just reach back and turn the axle shaft a bit at the u-joint area and see if it engages when locking hub is in 4x4. Then, disengage hub to 2x4 and verify likewise.
