I used a Weber with factory mechanical pumps for probably 25 years with very few problems.
 
Probably 7-9 psi.
I thought we covered this earlier.
Use a low pressure electric pump (7-9 psi) close to the Fuel Tank mounted in the Frame. It's easier to push than to suck.
Remove the Mechanical Pump and use a cover plate where it was.
And as mentioned, get a fuel pressure regulator to get it down to 2-3 psi
As a note, I mounted my Fuel Pressure Gauge on a 90° fitting in that Second Down Angle port on the Carb opposite of your fuel supply line. Easy to see, and adjust while running.
Or on a Redline style regulator, you can use the Center Port for the Fuel Pressure Gauge right on the unit.
Later today I will try to get pictures of both that I have on different vehicles.
