i just saw this post on craiglist in my home town.. is that a T-18 ??

Nope not even close. T-15 , T-150 , T-4 maybe, but not a T-18

About the only way is to arm yourself with as much information as possible. The T-18 is a BIG tramsmission and it is heavy... It's shape is pretty unique also.

Most of the time IDing a Transmission is pretty straight forward as long as you are familiar with them... That is where experience and having a good guide helps.

The Transmission on Craigslist is an SR4
The T-18 will say right on it either T18-1 or T18-B Drivers side [I believe]
If buying one make sure it has the 6.32 1st gear and not the 4.02 1st
The letter code will not tell you whats inside
