1982 CJ-7 258 / T-18 / Dana 300 31 in All Terrains.
1978 CJ-7 304 / TH 400 / Quadratrac 32 in Mud Terrains
Still not having alot of luck with this darn auto Transmission . Im thinking of picking one up and having it rebuilt before I go through this again. Anyhow the Yj version uses a different Transfer Case , the NP 231 or something. If I use a Yj one will I have to change the tailshaft to work with the Dana 300 ?
 
Just had a guy offer me one from an '89. May be lucky. 91 -93 have a hole for a crank position sensor. Still wonder about the Transfer Case though
 
I'm curious as to what kind of problems your having. balancing/vibrations ?. I went thru this conversion in 1999.

No nothing like that. Mine has slight pitting on the torque converter that causes it to leak and on this second Transmission the low gears seem to slip or just not shift smoothly.
