Now, I can’t speak for Gert, but for you’re information, I am not totally classless and without proper upbringing. I even got the dual horn setup so it would sound normal.

Besides - I have to have em to pass inspection.

And the air horns and air tank are going under the rear cargo area HAHAHAHABABA

Yes, yes it could. That would make sense. But it's not....... once again my knuckleheadedness strikes again. One of these days I'm gonna stop trying to big deal stuff that doesn't need big dealing. I decided when I wired in the horns, I'd add a relay. Got all my spade connectors soldered, plugged em all in on the back of the relay, mounted that sucker on the fender, connected to the hot and ground buss, connected the battery and nuthin. Dead. Direct connection to the battery and they sounded off rather smartly. Tonight I started tracing wires...... had voltage out to the new relay. Unplugged the pos lead for the horns, touched them to the battery, and they hurt my ears...... then I remembered the connector I had asked about earlier WAS for the horn relay..... I swear I cause myself more work....... removed the relay and now they work perfectly.

Still had issues with the signal lights - now that the new signal switch allows the signal lever to function properly, the signals would just come on and not blink. Swapped the hazard flasher in and they work fine - bad flasher. Sweet!! But the front passenger signal light will not light up. It does with parking lights, it does with headlights, and it functions properly with hazards on. That tells me the light itself works, but I have a bad connection somewhere in the signal circuit. I'll sort that out tomorrow. Once I get that figured out I'm down to getting the wipers working so I can get it inspected.

Have a couple gauges not working, couple gauge lights not working, but I can work on those after getting it in service. I would say I'm getting close again, but the last time I said that the cam bolt backed out...... so I'm not gonna say it........ [emoji12]

Today was "get the stupid signal light to work" day..... and from a frustration standpoint, it didn't disappoint LOL. The signal switch in the steering column needed to be replaced - it wouldn't hold position for either signal, and I was hoping a new switch would correct some if not all the issues. Swapped the switch out, reinstalled the steering column, connected the battery, and hit the signal...... Yay, same exact issue. All lights worked flawlessly, but the front right signal along with the front side marker. They worked with the lights on and with the the hazards on......but with the right turn signal on, nothing. With multimeter in hand, I started tracing wires. I pulled the side marker bulb, and the signal on, I got 11.5v from one lead, and 9 from the other..... should have been 0 for the second one.... I start untaping and unwrapping the headlight harness working my way back the the firewall.... voltages stay the same. The signal lead for the front right shows 9 volts constant at the main harness connector on the firewall. Pulled the signal switch connector part on the steering column - all voltages are as they should be - left and right...... so I figure I have a wiring issue between the fuse block and bulkhead connector - and since it was a wiring harness of unknown heritage, that was my assumption. Figured I'd reassemble the front end before I tackled the fuseblock, seeing how I removed headlights, signal lights, side marker lights, and tore the :dung: out of my headlight harness...... just for giggles, I turned on the right turn signal, picked up the right parking lamp, and the dang thing started working..... along with the side marker light. What the heck!!?? After all that - 4 or 5 hours of tracing voltages, untaping and unloosing....... it was the connector on the parking light wiring pigtail. Taped it up nice and tight, works perfectly now. I couldn't believe it. So - only thing left to get the inspection is wiper motor and linkage, and fab up some temporary shifter boots.....

Time for a startup attempt........ pushed it out into the driveway (I hope my pinhead neighbor sees it and calls the county again...LOL), cranked it a couple times, and she fired...... call it my imagination, but I swear it idles MUCH better than before pulling the heads. Before, I couldn't get it to idle smooth much below 1000 rpm or so. Gonna try to post a couple videos...... I'm stoked!!
