Hey everyone,
So I finally got the engine running strong and decided it was time to take the jeep out for its first test drive since the rebuild. I cranked the jeep up and attempted to put it in gear and while pushing in the clutch I couldn't get it to go into gear!?!?!?!? I initially thought maybe something is jammed up or something since its the first time im attempting to drive it but now I don't know what it is. the clutch feels like it has a lot of pressure but maybe its not working properly? Anyone else have this problem? I installed a new clutch and flywheel during rebuild.

First thing, can you shift the Transmission when the engine is not running? If you can, how much free play is there in your clutch pedal. These are just the starting points for figuring out why a Transmission won't go into gear. I won't go into the others just yet, because usually the problem has a simple solution.

Thanks for the quick response. With the engine off, the gears will shift no problem. The clutch pedal feels the same when engine is off or on.

Engine running or not running has nothing to do with pedal free play. Free play is how much travel there is in the clutch pedal before you feel resistance.
Try this, in a safe place where you won't run over anything. Put the Transmission in 1st gear with the engine off. Then, with the clutch fully depressed, try starting the engine. If the Jeep tries to roll, you probably have the clutch adjustment wrong. If the Jeep does not roll, try putting it in neutral, let the clutch out, put the clutch back in, and try shifting it. If it won't go into gear, there has to be something mis-adjusted or in there wrong.

Like 'Bass' said-Adjust your clutch pedal free-play. Set it to 1-1 1/4" of 'free' movement.
Check the linkage for wear/binding-
If problem is still there. Is this a new clutch? Are you SURE you installed the friction plate facing the correct way?
