I have a 5 speed manual (not sure of the make model at the moment) that pops out of 4th gear when I hit a bump in the road. The fluid is full and relatively clean. From I have read it might be the synchronizer? The question I have is this an easy repair for a shop or even me? Or would it be cheaper to replace the Transmission with a used one? Any information would be helpful, thanks.

If the Transmission is the stock unit it will be a T-5 which is a light duty car Transmission . You can thank AMC bean counters for that. I would look for a more robust Transmission , if you are wanting to stick with 5spd, a AX15 from later jeeps would be a good choice.

I would be looking at your engine and tranny mounts first.
The syncro does not hold the gear in place.
Make sure the shifter is not making contact with the tranny cover.
Change the oil. Go with 75w syn gear oil.
