What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Hit a mud bog on the way in to work, the jeep is sitting in the lot covered in mud, LOL.

that's just crazy funny :D
that used to be my favorite kind of wheeling but now too lazy to scrape off the chunks.

Took mine to a local festival. They wanted some off road rigs up there for a display.

Was okay, but missed a sweet classic car show to go there.

a couple buddies and I hit some trails today. Bounced the diff. cover off the gas tank skid a few times but the skid is not giving in any.(built it to well i guess) But the up side is we had a good time.:grinjeep:

I spent some time an a friends lathe and cut down the axle flanges for the disk brake conversion on the scout 44 I'm putting togather.
My plan is to use 2-bolt CJ front rotors and mid 80's Caddy calipers.

Rosco

Well I started sanding, then I broke the sander but the part is only 6 bucks from DeWalt. 1 of the POs had an engine fire, so instead of sanding and then repainting they just painted every where that the paint peeled. The only part that got pitted from the fire was the hood, and I have another one for it. The sanding off the paint is a pain, so I used a block sander until my arms got sore, which was about 15 minutes, and decided to just order the part to fix the sander and go from there.

Got my father's Allis Chambers 1960 "Whatch you talking about, Willis?" CJ5 ready for the great willys picnic.. 120 miles round trip in an NDT tired Jeep. Wish us luck:D

Olive, where is this Willy's picnic at? I have a 1960 as well.

Put some ford shock towers on, now my shocks won't be my bumpstops anymore.

I am going to have to get taller shock towers, guys/gals what year ford towers are those? and what will work for the back?
ok I believe it should be from a 90's ish ford f250/350 for the front correct?

I think I told them 88 f250 4x4 here is the part number

For the rear I'm not sure if there is something you can buy or not. Might have to make your own.

that was my next ? where to get them?. would autozone have them because I have a friend who works there and can get discounts.

kicknjeep

I got them from the ford dealer they were 15.88 each. They gave me an extra 2 1/2 inches of travel.

Ok Ok stop twisting my arm i'll check on it tomorrow :D Beside what is on there now wouldn't give me 1/4" travel

Hey Kickenjeep

I flexed my Jeep the best I could at home today, I now have 2" of front shock travel left when it's on the bumpstop.:D
I have the bumpstop spaced down 1 1/2" from stock, I think I'm good to go now.
Next is to work on the back ones as they look like they could be real close to bottoming out too. I'm thinking of just welding some pieces on to make them longer. I should be able to get another 1" or 2 out of them.

Took advantage of the cool weather. I made the jeep work for a living for a change.
