I drove it to work. The carb spit up in the driveway and locked the throttle valves closed, choking off air flow. I gave the plates a little encouragement (smacked 'em open with a ratchet).

On the way to work, the radio stopped making noise. It may have had a fatal dose of water. The speakers were just popping, even with the radio powered off.

I really need to up the game on the windshield and the cowl seals, which are new, but clearly not able to protect the radio. The puddles in the foot wells are becoming annoying, too.

Got my clutch hooked up with a home brew chain and sprocket similar to the advanced adapter set, but mine only cost me $25 for the #40 chain, #40 sprocket, and some all thread. Had some 1/4" plate laying around and a few bolts. It turned out pretty nice, clutch is much easier to operate now...

Here are a few pics I was able to get of it. I did not take any while I made the thing... ooops. Although I don't know why my pictures are turned sideways, sorry, stupid phone..

But it really is a smooth clutch too, glad I was able to save over 100 bucks too!

MY Jeep has electrical gremlins. Not nasty ones, just the annoying kind. So after girding my loins and focusing on the sticking point, the decision was taken to pull the inside fuse box and address the gremlins first hand. ....... OOOoopps after removing the two bolts holding the fuse box it become obvious that those same bolts also hold the engine bay side of the box to the firewall.

The original goal was to replace the offending fuse box with one salvaged and cleaned from another Jeep. While not perfect the replacement box had been thoroughly cleaned and examined to the point of memorization. By golly THIS is going to be a simple matter of swap wire ends and plugging in the new box. ................. WRONG ............ While the newer box looked identical from the outside, from the back the wires are not the same color or configuration with several jumpers configured for .................................. well you know where this is going, the much loved replacement box will not work.

So, pictures were taken, many pictures. After stripping, cleaning and reworking the box was reinstalled. Most of the Jeep still works! Unfortunately the brake lights refuse to work and the voltmeter has stopped. The odd part is the problems are not directly related to the fuse box. Wriggling, pushing and prodding the wire bundles behind the dash has done something to the rest of the wiring ........... What is still an unanswered question.

Why does it look like i'm seeing bicycle chain in your Jeep?

I would say closer to a small motorcycle chain, bicycle chain wouldn't bestrong enough. It is a #40 industrial/farm chain and sprocket. Advanced Adapters has a kit similar to this but it cost $140! I made it for around $25..

Too cool man

It lives again, Finally got her back running . Installed the new moser axles, new brakes ( still a little air in them) chinese speedo (smoked after 10 minutes) and a new battery. drove it about 45 miles to check the new suspension. all seems good but a little rough compared to the wore out stuff that came off. Next step "real" speedo and bumpers.:chug:

New front bumper, 2100 carb (so it runs, finally), new wiper and fan switches, still TONS to do.............

finely got the clutch linkage rod to the right shape and length. For the life of me I do not know how I screwed it up so bad when I did the body lift.:D

I drove it to work. I drove it to my tax prep guy because I received a corrected form that should have been finalized in Feb. I drove it home. No mammals were endangered at any time.

Yeah... we're going to need some pictures buddy... just saying! :D:D

Sounds like fun!

Replaced a blown radiator hose on my way to work. I hadn't put my tools back in yet after bed lining the interior so that made it fun in the dark.

Replaced the wiper motor and the switch and messed with the carb.

More over the coarse of the weekend than "today"...

While driving a few nights ago I had the low beams go out on me, come to find out there was an add-a-tap on the + lead (going nowhere might I add) to the lamps that it causing the issue. So, I figured it would be a good time to upgrade the wiring.

Wired up most of the headlight relay upgrade using a nice little two relay box out of a junkyard Cadillac (dual fan relay found on passenger firewall under the hood) and received my Packard 59 terminals in the mail. Now I just need the crimping tool for them to show up. Mouser Electronics part #829-12033979 if anyone is looking for Packard 59 (or as I found, currently called Delphi 59) terminals, cost a whole $0.32 each and they were only place I found that had them in stock in a quantity of less than 2000 each.

While waiting for the electrical bits, I finally got around to installing new motor mount cushions... wouldn't you know a 20 minute job turned into a few hours quickly when I came to the realization that the PO had mounted the skid too far back (probably why the mounts looked so bad) when the Transmission was redone.
