More brake work. One caliper was sticking so took apart, ground the bracket edges a bit, lubed up, good to go. Still have too much squish in the pedal so I'm going for new hoses. Frigged around with the GMC van hoses, drilled out to 7/16 but they won't work since the banjo end is thinner than stock and the bolt bottoms out before tight. Back to Carquest with the non drilled one. Ordered a set of good ridge stainless coming soon. Finally tracked down new banjo bolts - pita. Did you Harley bikes use the same 7/16-24 bolt!

Wooly - I believe your calipers are Ford items. Look for Ford parts.

Thanks HH. There is in fact a ford hose that is supposed to work well - nobody around here stocks them though . The right stuff is enroute from quadratec.

I drove mine a little over 30 miles over a mountain to drive it in a parade with my local club. The only CJ as well. Only bumped 210 going up the mountain there and back.

Another great working on the CJ weekend! The past few weekends, including vacation days on Friday have been heavy duty CJ work days. I'm ~ 98% done on the new rear bumper. 1/4" steel sort of step bumper, receiver hitch welded in, rear of the frame prepped (Due to the PO this was a BIG job in itself.), brackets made and the thing weighs a TON. So, took it to a friends with a plasma cutter to put the bumper on a diet by cutting out some of the back of the 4x4 and 2x6 tubes. While I had access to the plasma cutter the old tire carrier was modified to be welded on my really cool bearing housing (kindly donated by one of this boards members, thank you), and holes were cut for the bearing shaft, then holes were cut for 2 weld on recovery points. I have GOT to get me a plasma cutter, oh my, 1/4" cold rolled steel was like cutting butter with a hot knife. On Sunday the recovery points and bearing were welded on. Then the tire carrier along with some salvaged parts from the original ultra sloppy tire carrier were welded in place. After some clean up I LOVE THIS THING and I'm about as proud as can be of how it turned out. Additionally I'm looking at adding gas and water cans to the tire carrier. Without question I love my little MIG welder, but when it comes to welding relatively big steel nothing gets it done like a good stick welder and my Thermal Arc Converter is a great stick welding machine. It does take some getting used to though. ....... Now for some paint! Not to worry, pictures to come.

Next weekend the 21 gallon Fuel tank will be added. .... then the rear axle will be installed with the new gearing, E-locked and the new wiring to make the E-locker work? For me VERY exciting stuff. Can't wait to drive it again!

Removed about AMC 150 lbs of steel plating the PO installed in front of the rear axle. That was a BIG job in itself. Then finished and installed the stock rear cross member and newly built bumper/tire carrier.

Well then, here yah go! Just finished cooking up some haddock on my kamado grill, having a cold one and a cigar - what better time than the present!

I'm very happy with the construction, appearance, and performance to date - no wheeling or anything yet so no water/dust/vibration testing. The manufacturer states it is all of those things proof but we will see.

The hardware and lamp is clean with a good finish and I believe the hardware is stainless. Comes with an Allen wrench. Packed well. Here is the box and contents - one light is already installed. Two of everything come in the box.
