Looks like you had a blast there Posi, I would think those dead leaves on the ground would get a bit slippery on the trail.

Yes, the leaves and pine needles add to the challenge.

Prior to starting my build the brake system was upgraded to a yj M/C and booster, now that I have added rear discs I had to match my M/C to my new brake system.

The CJ booster is a GM bolt pattern, and the yj is ford so I went with a 78 Mercury Marquis M/C with the rear disc brake option. The yj M/C has a large primary, and small secondary reservoir with a bore diameter of 1”. The Merc M/C has both a large primary and secondary reservoir with a bore diameter of 1 1/8”. A big plus, the new M/C only cost $25.

I had to modify the cover latch a bit to clear the booster. I'm happy with the results.

Wooly - Good noticing of small things. Looks like a cool old rail to keep your spark plug wire in good alignment. I like it, very cool.

Small world, right at this minute I'm working on adding a disk brake master cylinder to the CJ. I will need to make some brake lines so anything brake gets a hard look right now. I'm wondering what the brake line routing, you can see, is all about. Bendy, turny, criss crossing a bit, I'm sure there is a reason for it, I always wonder about these details.

Thanks,

HH is correct they hold, and separate for the wires.

The M/C primary port is in the rear (front brakes) the secondary is in the front (rear brakes) I chose to cross the lines at the M/C. I added S bends to both lines for tub flex as well.

Ahhh, I didn't see the cables in the original photo - yes - nice and tidy. That's a YJ MC correct? Puts the lines on the engine side - I like the "slack" for body twist etc. also like the neat fuel line routing. Good work.

How about some video from the GoPro that is in the pic?

When, or if he posts the vids I'll post them here as well.
Met him for the first time on last Sunday's run.

Rested in prep for our annual chili crawl at my buddies house - can't believe the season is almost over already - maybe a little snow wheeling this year.

Looking forward to hitting fields and forest - when are you guys going next?

FF is closed for the season, and will reopen in the spring after mud season. I'll be wheeling in NH next Sunday (29th) to knock off the thanksgiving food coma, your welcome to come along if interested

Just went through over 24 hours of Hell and bloody knuckles, but i finally installed a rebuilt T-176 Transmission . The difference is amazing. For the first time since buying my CJ5 , i can finally downshift, and go into 3rd and 4th gear without grinding. My CJ has a new lease on life! It's Miller Time!

Cleaned up the CJ for winter storage after the Chili Crawl - our annual club get together at a members house. Good times with good friends banging around in a friendly timed run around his property.
