I have GOT to quit gettin lost in the details..... at this rate I'll never drive it....

I left mine faded just as the 55MPH law has faded into history... why remind myself of something that just used to **** me off...

... can't believe how perfectly you executed that.... nice job.

Thanks - I think cleaning the inside of the glass helped as much as anything..... as for the 55 limit - I wanted to reprint the no-no line so it looks like I'm really doing something...... driving in the red makes me feel like I'm going faster than I really am LOL

Can't argue with that perspective...

That does make a difference. You don't notice the gradual decline till it's shot.

I'm cleaning the garage again to pull the Jeep back in after a couple days use. Once in, it's time to begin the upgrades. Pulling off smog equipment, adding the MSD box, new coil, Edelbrock intake, and the EFI. I'll do some engine bay painting and some engine painting too.

I bought a bunch of these to tag and / or bag everything.

Are there that many parts on a jeep ? :)

Ha! I'm sure when I'm half done there will be... My goal is not to have a "where does this go" thread here in the next few weeks... :D

Today I noticed a busted front axle u-bolt, that could have been a bad thing if the one next to it let loose. I never thought I would have that problem, I have changed them before as they can fatigue, but it has been awhile. Maybe switching them out should be a regular maintenance item. All of my u-bolts are 9/16" also. This must have happened on a local trip that I did a few weeks ago.

Curious what area of the bolt? Real close to the middle?

Looking at the break, it was right at where it goes into the top of the u-bolt skid plate that I had so it was well protected. Come to think of it, I did tag a rock while going thru a large rock garden on my previous trip. It did show evidence of a previous crack also. The axle centering pin looks o.k.

Just finished putting on 1972 Jeep fender decals in silver. Look pretty good considering I have a fiberglass tub and no raised letters. Stoked enough to purchase the matching 1972 hood decals in silver, with the letters cut out for the paint color to come through.

Nice finishing touch... been thinking of the hood decal myself, found a guy that will print anything on it... can't decide on what it would be though...

Hooked up a temporary USB charge port to the old cigarette lighter wiring... no current... checked fuse and found a blown 20 amp in the 10 amp socket... Installed a new 10 amp and all seems to be normal, but will keep an eye on things.

Will eventually mount it in the stereo blank plate along with the bluetooth amp control.

Now I can run my ipod and GPS on our trip today...

I found a marine dual USB port (both 2.1 amp) as well with no LED so it won't run down battery... or show itself.

Mine will look similar... thanks for the pics.
