Rear bumper installed.

*sigh*

Messed around trying to figure out why my brake lights aren't working... after a nice friendly officer pointed it out to me.

Nice reinforcement of the rear crossmember. I've been trying to get around to installing a similar bracket on mine. Do you fabricate it yourself, or bought it online?

Posi turned me onto this set on ebay... I liked them because they used three frame holes instead of two and the guy built them like a tank... also included all of the bolts (although too short for the 86 CJ frame). He had them for $49, but accepted $40 offer.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any listed at the moment. You might try contacting him.

Sweet power steering is real nice after you have been dealing with manual steering

Finally got a chance to take my new flatty out to a local off road vehicle park and start to get a feel for how it performs on some of the obstacles.

That’s a 41 cover.
Looks like your passenger had a good time.

Pretty sure having one of those is on my bucket list.....

It actually did way better than I had hoped. Given that I drove the jeep on the street the 20-ish miles to the park I avoided some obstacles I thought were a risk for ripping my muffler off. Only time I got stuck at all was when I got opposite corners hanging in the air. Totally expected with the open diffs.

It is a little higher geared than I would like. High range is reasonable for driving on the road but low range over obstacles had me riding the clutch a lot to keep the speed at what I felt was reasonable.

I did have one stall on a steep climb. That was about it though. All and all it was a good time, in a relatively safe environment where I was able to remind myself about some of my long-lost off road skills. I feel a little more confident now.

Hey that's prairie city. Did you get up that pyramid to the top? :D

We should hook up bud.
