What did you do to or with your CJ today?
I was sitting in line at Chick-fil-a yesterday - had the doors off since it was nice. Dude got out of a 4 door JK couple cars behind me, walked and asked if I belonged to a Jeep club of any sort. I said no, so he handed me a card and said I should consider joining. I told him I’d look into it. Then I looked closer at the card. I know it was given in the spirit of camaraderie, but the card itself didn’t seem real inviting to CJ’s LOL

I love the Tellico Mountains and fortunately they are only 60 miles from my house. Still over an hours drive with the CJ though lol.
Usually this time of year I have the whole river pretty much to myself but with the Kung flu going around seems everyone is heading to the Mountains.
They do have all the camping areas closed off.
I saw a lot of Jeeps but mine was the only CJ that I know of. And unlike the Mall crawler city Jeeps everyone I saw gave the old Jeep wave.

My buddy is up in Maggie Valley NC His property backs up to SMNP. Plenty area to see up in those mtns.

Been through Maggie Valley many times. Beautiful part of the country for sure!!
Most of the attractions around the Smokies have been shut down Cades Cove included. Gatlinburg from what i've seen is a ghost town.
I'll be glad when this crisis is over and things get back to normal.

Yeah you and I both really ready to get back to some type of normalcy. My buddy & his wife are in the middle of walking the 900 miles of trails in the park right now. Sounds like the trails are open, probably not the camping spots though

Got my bumper and tire carrier from Dirtworx last week. Spent the last several days in isolation doing some PPP. I used rattle can self etching primer and hammered finish black. Paint job looks great, but it's not that durable. It already has a few nicks here and there from the install. And before you hound me, I allowed it to cure for a few days before handling it!

The rotopax are expensive, but worth it.

Sure does. I have an aftermarket rear crossmember from MORE, but it fits the same.

I've been driving my jeep whenever I get the chance. No problems or issues at all just a joy to drive that leaves me grinning from ear to ear.
Still somewhat searching for a project jeep to tear apart and rebuild, maybe it can be my sons first car (he is 7).

Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy in these crazy corona virus times.

Seth

I updated my Sniper firmware. Later I made a bunch of changes to the AFR curve to lean it out some more and uploaded that.

Changed my mind three times in the past 5-7 days on tire and rim combo for after lift is done. ;-)

Never ends.

Wow...how nice is that? Came out great

I have one and have not yet had a chance to fill it. Was considering getting a second one. I have read reviews by some that have experienced some leaks, but by and large, most seem to be well satisfied with them

Fixed the floormats from sliding around by using some 1/4" carriage bolts. I bought some anti fatigue mats that just happened to have the right sized holes to mount through. After I drilled the hole and tightened down the nut I cut the excess length off with a grinder.

Took some time after work tonight to start removing the snow plow support parts on the from of my 3a. Got the hoop off. Cut through the bumper in 2 spots, but I can deal with that later. Almost have that horrible part on the bottom off. But I have about an i ch left to cut through on each side where it is welded to the frame rails. The cutting wheel can’t get to it without cutting the spring perches. Tried the reciprocating saw, but I don’t have a sharp enough blade. I really wish I had a plasma cutter.

Well, I got the rear diff. buttoned up with a nice new blue Fel-Pro gasket and some 80W/90 gear oil.
Finally got the front diff. cover off and everything inside looks like it has been rebuilt sometime in the past as it looks way too new. Maybe that's just a Jeep thing, looking new in the front?
The rear was pretty much hashed out, spider gear shaft all wobbly, but I'm not gonna rebuild it right now, I'll wait until I have the cash to do it right. Don't worry, I'm not gonna wheel it until I get that done. It does drive around w/o any noise right now.
Got the intake and exhaust manifolds off w/o breaking even one bolt! The exhaust is all cracked up so I ordered a new one from Morris.
Next is to put the gas tank back in and then we'll continue on putting the new springs and shocks on her. Lord knows we got plenty of time on our hands right now.

Got the front 90% buttoned up, just need some replacement bolts. Then it's on to the windshield.

What seal was used between windshield & frame ?

Just the typical rubber one...

As in vendor provided installed one ? Reason I ask is because I got my glass replaced over 25 years ago and actually provided one. Picked up my jeep and it was still laying on the seat. Asked why and was told me they had something better. First rain it leaked like a sieve. Brought it back and still leaked. Finally sealed it myself.

I'm replacing my radiator today, so I went to Autozone for some hoses. They had to special order the lower radiator hose, which I was told would arrive after 5pm. When I called to check, they told me nothing had arrived, and they had no record of my order. Even though I had a receipt showing I paid it in full. last time I ever go someplace other then NAPA. :(
